The core of Interserve’s work is our long term program. Serving people and establishing genuine, lasting relationships is the best way to model the love of Christ, but this takes time. We would hope that you, as an Interserve Partner, would consider a term for an initial period of 3 years. Many of our workers find that, because they have been called to the country of Gods choosing, they naturally fall in love with the people and the culture where they serve. Building relationships with people in the countries in the Interserve world requires a serious commitment and an investment of time, but the benefits that arise from this commitment are enormous. In these countries it is difficult to make serious, lasting friendships if you are only there for a short period of time.
Time overseas will include a period of language learning and cultural study, and immersion into the country of service. If you already have a strong sense that this is what God wants you to do and are ready to take the next step, you can apply to join our team of Partners (long-termers).
We will be happy to work with you as you seek the full support and backing of your church family. Most positions are not salaried so we will also help you to raise your financial support.
Contact one of our Authorized Agents, by filing out the Preliminary Information Form, and we can send you more detailed information about what is involved in becoming an Interserve Partner.
